A dramatic late Shola Ameobi draw spared Newcastle a humiliating defeat at home to ten-man Sunderland after an ill-tempered Tyne-Wear derby.

A Nicklas Bendtner penalty gave the visitors the advantage but Ameobi's late leveller spared the hosts blushes after Stephane Sessegnon was sent off and Demba Ba missed a penalty.

Newcastle named the same eleven which equaled with Wolves, with Sengalese strikers Ba and Papiss Cisse leading the line for the Geordies.
