Wayne Rooney scored two goals and Manchester United held off a dramatic fightback from 10-man Manchester City to win a pulsating FA Cup derby at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

United thrillingly had advantage of 3-0 after a remarkable first half in which Rooney headed the opening two goals, Danny Welbeck added another and City captain Vincent Kompany was sent off.
