Chelsea took a step toward the Champions League semifinals after wining 2-1 at home through Frank Lampard penalty in the first-half and Meireles goal in the 90 minute of the match.

Chelsea is going into the semifinals of UEFA Champions League facing Barcelona and the two other teams that are going to play in the semifinals are Real Madrid with Bayern Munich.

Before this game started, everyone knew that Benfica needed a minor miracle. Even those who believe Benfica was the much better team in the first leg had to admit before the match started that a comeback was unlikely.
