Bayern Munich earned their ninth consecutive victory in all competitions and maintained their pressure on Dortmund in the Bundesliga table with a 2-1 home win against Augsburg on Saturday. Mario Gomez scored in each half, lifting his tally to 25 league goals this season.
It took just 24 seconds for Gomez to open the scoring, but Koo Ja-Cheol equal the visitors level on 15 minutes. Entering the final half-hour, the Bayern striker completed his double, putting the hosts ahead for good.
