Benfica on Tuesday staged a "tragedy in two acts" to be beaten by Chelsea in the Light (0-1) in the first leg of quarter-final of the Champions League. Kalou spoiled the party of 'embodied' with a solitary goal in the second part.

The first half was marked by a peer review of the strategies of the teams, with Benfica to show some offensive dominance and Chelsea betting on the counterattack.

After a goalless first half everything seemed open.
