AZ appeared Thursday in Brussels too strong for Anderlecht. The Alkmaar club won again as in the home game of the Belgian leader, 0-1.

This rallied the team of coach Gertjan Verbeek is in the last sixteen in the Europa League. AZ met in the eighth finals Udinese.

Anderlecht opened with a big offensive in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. That was to be expected after the 1-0 loss last week of the Belgians in Alkmaar.
