The Turks seemed a simple evening meeting, but tonight gave a comfortable 2-0 lead in hand. On the stroke of half-time, Ricardo Quaresma put the visitors ahead, and Ibrahim Toreman the game after 47 minutes seemed to have finally decided.

Maccabi did it but did not sit through an hour after Shiran Yeini something back. Twenty minutes before it went all wrong for Besiktas, when Moshe Logasi the home team even took on the same level. At 2-2 it seemed to remain, but in injury time gave Quaresma with his second goal for joy in the Turkish camp.
