Bolton managed to pull itself out of the relegation zone with an important three points with a 2-1 victory at home over fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers in a crucial game at the foot of the table.
After a stale opening half hour at the Reebok stadium, the match sprung into life when David Wheater scored two headers for the home team in a seven-minute salvo. Blackburn rarely threatened and was unable to mount a comeback, despite pulling back an early second-half score through Steven N’Zonzi.
